How to be Successful on Daraz.pk

 


We started with Daraz few months back and shipped more than a 1000 orders so far, here are few pros and cons as per my personal experience

pros:

  1. Easy to sign-up and start selling, take only few minutes, shop verification process can take sometime but you can order packaging material and start uploading products, so when your shop is live, you already ready to receive and ship orders
  2. There is still lot of room, so you bring your unique products, will definitely appear on top, still lot of products available in local market are missing from Daraz
  3. payments are almost transferred on promised timelines
  4. hubs staff is very cooperative, guide well if you have any query
  5. good source for passive income, can do along with your full time job
  6. no SKU limit, you can upload 100 / 1000 or even 10,000 products.

cons:

  1. they hold products when returned, very tough to keep track of returned and cancelled orders, when you shipping 10,20 or 30 orders daily and getting emails for cancelled orders, you totally don’t know where are those cancelled orders, i don’t know why they ask sellers to fill claim forms for lost orders, why software don’t handle? that is very bad
  2. daraz commission is increasing, recently changed from 2.65% to 13.95% on many categories, also have added other fees and taxes, not sure if they were already there
  3. brand issue, sometime they randomly block SKU for brand issue, when call them, they have no clue at all, ask us to bring certificate from Arizona Microship headquarters,
  4. seller center still have few bugs, orders keep appearing even after you handed over to Daraz.
  5. very poor order verification system, many orders come back because of destination address out of service area, then why ask sellers to ship ?

If you planning to start Daraz shop, here is a tip, keep your shop offline by using Holiday mode, upload 100–200 SKUs and wait until they are passed by QC team, this is to make sure you get sufficient orders every day from very first day, otherwise if you get 1–2 orders daily, you may lose hope because it takes almost same effort to take 1 or 10 orders to Daraz hub.


What products to stay away from

  • Seasonal product
  • Fresh produce or eatable
  • Short shelf life
  • Fragile
  • High priced products
  • High seller ratio
  • High saturated products
  • Liquids

Think before join daraz seller if a product which your selling on daraz market price 100 if your price less then 150 you cant sell because of high commission charges and packaging cost and when i think as a customer to purchase a item which price is 100 in local market and 150 on daraz without shipping charges and shipping charges included minimum 39 in very less cases many of cases shipping 99 and 145 i will never purchases from daraz such a product in 300,249 or 189 when its available in market without negotiation is 100.

  1. i applied 21.03.19 and approved on 25.03.19
  2. They give me a voucher to get first purchase of packaging material which i unable to use one week complain many time about issue on helpline every daraz representative have his own guidance to order and avail discount no knowledge of resolution of complain and important thing i note that very poor response to seller on helpline they dont know what is the issue and what to do next every time received different solution but all of those was not helpful even then they arrange callback for me about voucher issue but nothing happen and no one call me.
  3. Daraz Packaging Material is also in high price as compare to market ,box and other items prices are too high and the quality of the Packaging material is also very bad.
  4. if you not purchase high price packaging material your shop should not active.
  5. when i received packaging material they finally live my shop on daraz but now the real show start i cant add products of popular brands and if some of those added the Quality Control is pending 10 days and long i even not approve local product for selling now think about the daraz services i upload my first product on 25.03.19 and today is 07.04.19 and my product not approve from quality control depart what the hell they are doing when they have no access to physical product how the ensure quality of product and wht they are pending for 12 days i thing they checking my product spelling mistakes in Super computer which was invented first time and processor of that computer checking 1 word per day
  6. Now m have all required items and packing but waiting for approval which i think never approve.
  7. my advice to all those person who are thinking to sell on daraz if you have time to waste and loss of money then you should join daraz seller center and enjoy selling

ts just a company with multiple flaws the very first thing a seller face on Daraz seller centre is the lack of information they provide how to add a product.

when finally you manage to upload an item on their website then you have to wait for days and days to get the quality control department to pass the quality.

if you are selling a seasonal item you might don’t get enough time to sell it on Daraz since they waste at least 10 days of your sale even you have uploaded the item.

Here is my personal experience with Daraz,

when i call their call centre about the problems i was facing they don’t have clue what they are talking about when i asked them that what is taking so long to upload an item they said its company’s rule and regulation and also Daraz is checking if I uploaded an item correctly in the manners they have asked for, I mean do they don’t have a system to check the flaws to save precious time of the seller?

I don’t understand how they check the quality of the product since they don’t have the product in physical so i think its just time wasting, just to show off that they really give importance to the quality of they product.

Also you can not upload high resolution photos on Daraz, they will give you some stupid dimensions in which you can not show your buyer a good look of your product in details, since a good detailed photo is the only way for a bayer in remote area or sitting any where in pakistan which can convince him to buy your product, nevertheless what your description is, don’t get me wrong a good description is also important but buyer’s first priority is always look for a good presentation.

Also Daraz commission rate is too much so seller have to add this amount into the price of the product in result product will be expensive from the rest of the market, means less customer will buy from Daraz.

Being a seller these are the problems i am facing right now on Daraz, my items haven’t been live yet so once they get live i will write more about my experience, let me know if any of you have some suggestions for me.
